D is for Daniel, Vincent Supple

Vincent Supple Daniel was born in 1874 in Kensington London. He married Ethel Martha Dixon(my husband's great aunt)in Fulham in 1902.

From the 1901 census we learn he is a self employed artist. Other records http://www.philsp.com/homeville/BJSP/t35.htm#TOP show he is an illustrator for The Boys Friend in 1901-1902 and for more information on his career see http://ukcomics.wikia.com/wiki/Vincent_S._Daniel_%281874-1945%29  From this we learn he draws comics for many years until the World War 2 cuts the sale of penny comics. He died in 1945 in Brentford.

Vincent & Ethel had 4 children Monica Mary, Lawrence Wythe, Josephine Claire and Pauline M.

From L to R. Ethel, Josephine, Monica and Lawrence
I never cease to be amazed at the variation in occupations in the family tree. I guess I'm jealous of his artistic talents as mine are nonexistent.

  1. Hi Judy, we both chose Daniel for D - how interesting - yours was a surname and mine a first name
